Is the Greenworks 48V 17" Lawn Mower worth it?

Yes — for small lawns.

It runs on two 24V 4Ah batteries together, mulches or bags, has six cutting heights and comes with both batteries and a dual charger. On a small lawn it cuts through thick patches fine. The 17-inch deck means more passes, the bag fills quickly, and a bigger lawn can drain the batteries before you finish.

Good to know

  • The grass bag is small and needs emptying more than once on a typical lawn.
  • Not self-propelled.
  • Doesn't stand upright for storage.

How we reached this verdict

The Gadgeteer mowed with the 2×24V 17-inch brushless version for a season: it powered through thick grass and bagged wet grass without clogging, but the batteries were nearly flat after about an eighth of an acre and the bag needed emptying twice. Greenworks rates the kit for up to half an acre, so we'd keep it to small lawns.

We compared independent expert reviews with the manufacturer's specifications, then checked it's sold at a major retailer where you live. We don't test products ourselves.
