Is the Razer Huntsman V3 Pro TKL 8KHz worth it?

Yes β€” if you play competitive shooters.

Its analog optical switches register anywhere from 0.1 to 4.0 mm, with rapid trigger and Snap Tap for counter-strafing, and you can change them on the keyboard itself with the dial. Latency is extremely low and consistent, the build is solid with an aluminium top plate and textured PBT keycaps, and a magnetic wrist rest comes in the box. It's wired only, a little loud, and the stabilisers rattle slightly.

Good to know

  • Slightly rattly stabilisers, the spacebar especially.
  • It polls at 8,000 Hz, but its effective update rate tops out at 4,000 Hz β€” not something you'll notice in games.
  • Wired only, and fairly heavy.

  • You want to tune the keys on the keyboard, without opening software.

Skip it if…

  • You want wireless, or one keyboard for several devices.
  • You type in a quiet shared room: it's too loud for that.

How we reached this verdict

RTINGS tested this TKL 8KHz version and calls it an outstanding gaming keyboard: extremely low, consistent latency, extremely accurate actuation for rapid trigger and SOCD, solid build and excellent backlighting, with only slightly rattly stabilisers against it. It found the effective update rate stops at 4,000 Hz but said you won't notice while gaming. Razer's spec sheet confirms the 0.1–4.0 mm range, Snap Tap and the wrist rest.

We compared independent expert reviews with the manufacturer's specifications, then checked it's sold at a major retailer where you live. We don't test products ourselves.
