Both are very bright SQD Mini LEDs with deep blacks and Google TV, and Tom's Guide found colour, input lag and upscaling very close. The QM8L is clearly brighter with less blooming and has HDMI 2.1 on all four ports, but the QM7L costs less and also comes in 55 inches.
