Is the TCL QM7L worth it?
Yes β the best-value bright TV of 2026.
It gets bright enough to beat glare in a sunny room and its Mini LED dimming keeps blacks deep at night, with only minor halos around subtitles. Colours are rich and vivid. It comes in 55 to 98 inches. Only two of its four HDMI ports do 4K at 120Hz, fast games blur, and the picture fades if you sit well off to the side.
Good to know
- Only two of the four HDMI ports do 4K at 120Hz, so two consoles plus a soundbar can be tight.
- Reflections from windows show in dark scenes.
- HDR looks over-bright and isn't accurate out of the box.
- Built-in sound is just OK.

- Bright enough for a sunny room
- Deep, uniform blacks for an LCD
- 55-inch size, unlike the QM8L

How we reached this verdict
RTINGS rates it great for mixed use: excellent local dimming with deep blacks, outstanding brightness and low input lag, held back by slow pixel response in games, poor HDR accuracy and a narrow viewing angle. Tom's Guide gave it 4.5/5 and named it its top Mini LED value of the year, rating it the better buy than the QM8L for most people at $200 less.
We compared independent expert reviews with the manufacturer's specifications, then checked it's sold at a major retailer where you live. We don't test products ourselves.
