Cuisinart Precision Master SM-50
Great choice

Yes — on a budget.

A big 5.5-quart bowl for far less than a KitchenAid.

How big is the bowl?

5.5 quarts, in polished stainless steel — bigger than the KitchenAid Artisan's 5 quarts.

How powerful is it?

It has a 500-watt motor and 12 speeds.

What comes in the box?

A chef's whisk, a dough hook, a flat mixing paddle and a splash guard with a pour spout.

Is it dishwasher safe?

Yes. Cuisinart says the bowl and all the accessories are dishwasher safe.

What attachments can I add?

Cuisinart sells a pasta roller and cutter, pasta extruder, meat grinder, frozen dessert maker and spiralizer that fit its power hub — fewer than KitchenAid offers.

What's the warranty?

3 years, limited.

How big and heavy is it?

About 14.2 in long, 7.9 in wide and 14.1 in tall, and around 21 lb.

Is it as good as a KitchenAid?

For most home baking, close. Tom's Guide picks it as the budget stand mixer: a lot of the same functions at about half the price. You give up KitchenAid's range of attachments and colours.
