How long do I have to freeze the tub first?
24 hours. When Tom's Guide tried after only 14 hours, the result was soft and soupy. Keeping a couple of frozen tubs ready gets round the wait.
How much does one tub make?
One 16 oz pint per tub — two to three servings. Two pints come in the box.
What can it make?
Seven programmes: Ice Cream, Gelato, Sorbet, Smoothie Bowl, Lite Ice Cream, Milkshake and Mix-In. Re-spin softens anything that comes out crumbly.
Is it good for protein or dairy-free ice cream?
Yes. Tom's Guide found it excelled with protein and flavour powders, and Expert Reviews found dairy-free recipes as smooth as dairy ones.
Is it loud?
Yes. TechRadar measured up to 88 dB making sorbet — blender-loud, but only for a few minutes.
Is it dishwasher safe?
Yes, the removable parts — tubs, lids, outer bowl and paddle — go in the dishwasher.
How big is it?
It's tall and narrow, so check the height under your wall cabinets.
Can I use Deluxe or Swirl tubs in it?
No. It only takes original CREAMi (NC299/NC300 series) tubs. Deluxe and Scoop & Swirl tubs are different sizes.
Should I get the original or the Deluxe?
The original if it's for one or two people and you want to spend less. The Deluxe if you feed a family — its tubs hold about 50% more — or want slushies and frozen drinks.
