Is the TCL QM7K worth it?

Yes β€” a great bright-room TV while it's discounted.

It's very bright and copes very well with light from lamps and windows around the room, while its contrast keeps blacks extremely deep even with bright highlights on screen. HDR colour is rich, input lag is very low and two HDMI ports do 4K at 144Hz. There's some blooming, HDR colour isn't accurate out of the box, lamps directly opposite still reflect and the picture fades from the side. It comes in 55 to 98 inches.

Good to know

  • Only two HDMI ports do 4K at 144Hz.
  • Lamps or windows directly opposite still show as glare.
  • Some blooming around bright highlights on dark backgrounds.
  • Fast motion leaves faint colour trails.

How we reached this verdict

RTINGS rates it very good for mixed use, home cinema, bright rooms and sport: very bright, impressive with ambient light, fantastic contrast, great HDR colour volume and very low input lag. It loses points for sub-par HDR accuracy before calibration, some blooming and a narrow viewing angle.

We compared independent expert reviews with the manufacturer's specifications, then checked it's sold at a major retailer where you live. We don't test products ourselves.
