Is the Razer BlackWidow V4 75% worth it?

Yes, if you want a premium-feeling compact mechanical board.

Gasket mounting, foam layers, a factory tape mod and lubed stabilisers make it sound and feel far nicer than older Razer boards. Its tactile Orange switches have the bump very early in the press, it's hot-swappable with most 3- and 5-pin switches, latency is remarkably low at up to 8,000 Hz, and a magnetic wrist rest is included. It's wired only, the media keys are only partly programmable, and many owners online report key chatter, where a key types twice.

How we reached this verdict

RTINGS calls it an amazing gaming keyboard with remarkably low, consistent latency at up to 8,000 Hz and impressive build, but flags widespread owner reports of key chatter, which its own unit didn't show. Tom's Hardware (4/5) found it sounds much better than Razer's other boards, with hot-swap sockets, but a little boring with some stabiliser rattle, and TechRadar (4.5/5) praises the typing but finds the Orange switches not the quickest.

We compared independent expert reviews with the manufacturer's specifications, then checked it's sold at a major retailer where you live. We don't test products ourselves.
