Privacy

Short version: no accounts, no advertising cookies, and we never ask for your name, email or payment details.

Who we are

WhichOneToGet is operated by HNR TECHNOLOGIES LTD (company number 17492183), 71-75 Shelton Street, Covent Garden, London, WC2H 9JQ, United Kingdom. It is the data controller for the information described below. Questions or requests: [email protected].

What we collect and why

Server logs. Our hosting provider (Vercel) keeps standard logs — page requested, time, browser type, the page you came from and IP address — to run and secure the site. They are kept for a short period and not used to identify you.

Visit and click counts. We count visits with Plausible Analytics, which doesn't use cookies. When you click a retailer button we record which product and which shop, and pass your IP address and browser type to Plausible so it can count unique visitors; Plausible doesn't store the IP address and only keeps aggregated figures.

One cookie. wotg_locale remembers whether you chose the UK or the US, so we show the right shops. It's only set when you pick a country.

We use this information on the basis of our legitimate interest in running a secure, working website and knowing which answers help people. We don't sell it or use it for advertising.

Retailer links

Retailer buttons take you to shops such as Amazon, Currys, AO and Best Buy, sometimes through an affiliate network such as Awin. If you buy something, we may earn a commission. Those sites may set their own cookies to credit the sale to us, and their privacy policies apply once you're there.

As an Amazon Associate we earn from qualifying purchases. Commission never changes our verdicts.

Your rights

Under UK and EU data protection law you can ask for a copy of personal data we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete it, or object to how we use it. Email [email protected]. In practice we hold almost nothing that identifies you. If you're unhappy with how we handle your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).
