How many people does it cook for?
A family. Ninja says the two 4.75 L drawers (9.5 L in all) make a main and a side for up to 8 people, or up to 2.7 kg of chips.
Can I cook two different foods and have them ready at the same time?
Yes — that's the point of it. Each drawer has its own heater and fan, so you can set different functions, temperatures and times, and the Sync button makes both finish together.
Can I use both drawers as one big basket?
No. The two drawers are separate, so large items have to fit in one drawer. A small whole chicken fits in one side; a large one or a big pizza won't.
How much counter space does it need?
A lot of width — the drawers sit side by side and it weighs 8.8 kg. Measure your counter before you buy. If space is tight, the Ninja Double Stack XL stacks its drawers instead.
What can it cook?
Six settings: Max Crisp, Air Fry, Roast, Bake, Reheat and Dehydrate. Max Crisp is for frozen food like chips and nuggets.
Does it cook evenly?
Mostly, but shake or turn food halfway. In RTINGS' tests the US model sometimes overcooked part of a batch while the rest needed longer, so it rewards a check halfway through.
Is the non-stick coating PFAS-free?
Yes. Ninja says the drawers' non-stick coating on the DZ901UK is made PFAS-free.
Are the drawers dishwasher safe?
Ninja's UK page lists the non-stick drawers and crisper plates but doesn't say they're dishwasher safe. Washing by hand keeps any non-stick coating going longer.
What's the difference between the UK and US versions?
The UK model is the DualZone XL DZ901UK: 9.5 L in two 4.75 L drawers, with a 2-year guarantee. The US model is the Foodi DualZone XL DZ401: 10 qt in two 5-qt baskets. Buy the one made for your country — they run on different mains voltages.
Should I get this or the Air Fryer Pro?
Get the DualZone if you cook for three or more or want a main and a side ready together. Get the Air Fryer Pro if it's just one or two of you and you want something small and cheap.
