Before you measure
Robot heights include the round sensor on top — that's the part that gets stuck. The Dreame L60 Ultra lowers its sensor to slide under, the others don't. Heights are the manufacturers' figures, rounded up.
A gap that's only just big enough can still trap a robot if the sofa sags or the carpet is thick. If it's within a few millimetres, assume it won't fit.
The dock needs room above it too: you lift the water tanks out of the top. Leave space on each side and in front so the robot can line up.
How we reached this verdict
We compared independent expert reviews with the manufacturer's specifications and the problems owners keep reporting, then checked it's sold at a major retailer where you live. We don't test products ourselves.
