Is the Acer Predator Helios Neo 16 AI (2025) worth it?
Yes — the best value for high-end gaming.
It costs less than most RTX 5070 Ti laptops and gets you a very bright, colourful 16-inch 240 Hz screen, a sturdy metal body and easy upgrades: two memory slots and a spare SSD slot. It weighs 2.7 kg with a 1 kg charger, runs hot and loud in Turbo, and lasts little time away from the plug under load.
Good to know
- Heavy: 2.7 kg, and the 330 W charger adds about 1 kg.
- The side and back vents get hot, and Turbo mode is loud.
- Under load the battery runs down in an hour or two; light use in Eco mode lasts about seven hours.
- The trackpad is small and off-centre.
- A loud start-up sound plays until you turn it off in the BIOS.
- Make sure it's the 2025 model: PHN16-73 with a Core Ultra 275HX or 255HX. The 2026 model (PHN16-I71) has the same name.

How we reached this verdict
PC Gamer (81%) called it a relative bargain among top-end gaming laptops, measuring 635 nits and 99% of DCI-P3 on the screen, but found it hot with almost no battery life in games. 3DNews gave it an Editor's Choice and measured its RTX 5070 Ti at about 138 W in Turbo. Creative Bloq (4.5/5) praised the build and the speed for video editing.
We compared independent expert reviews with the manufacturer's specifications, then checked it's sold at a major retailer where you live. We don't test products ourselves.
