Is the ASUS ROG Zephyrus G14 (2025) worth it?

Yes — if you want to carry it everywhere.

It packs up to an RTX 5080 into a 1.5 kg aluminium body with a sharp 3K OLED screen, great speakers and a battery that lasts a working day away from games. It gets very hot and loud when gaming, it costs a lot, and the memory can't be upgraded, so buy enough up front.

Which build to get

The same Zephyrus G14 is sold with different graphics, memory and storage, each under its own model number. Each button below goes to that exact build.

  • Our pick

    RTX 5070 Ti · 32 GB · 2 TB

    AMD Ryzen AI 9 HX 370 · 14" 2880×1800 120 Hz OLED

Almost as fast as the RTX 5080 here, for much less, and 32 GB matters because the memory can't be added later.

    Model number: GA403WR-QS088W

  • RTX 5060 · 16 GB · 1 TB

    AMD Ryzen 9 270 · 14" 2880×1800 120 Hz OLED

The same lovely screen and body for far less, but noticeably slower, and stuck at 16 GB for good.

What owners say

Owners love how much gaming power fits in such a small, light laptop. The main complaint is heat.

Good to know

  • The top and underside pass 50 °C in long gaming sessions; a desk or stand helps.
  • The memory is soldered: 16 GB stays 16 GB.
  • Graphics power drops to 43 W on battery, so game plugged in.
  • The OLED flickers (PWM) at low brightness.
  • Make sure it's the 2025 model: GA403WR, GA403WW or GA403UM. The 2026 G14 uses GA403G and GU405.

How we reached this verdict

Notebookcheck gave both the RTX 5070 Ti and RTX 5080 versions 89%: 72 fps in Cyberpunk at 1440p Ultra on the 5070 Ti, over 10 hours of browsing on battery, and praise for the build, screen and speakers, against hot surfaces and loud fans. TechRadar (4/5) loved the performance and OLED but found it too hot to touch in places; PCWorld found the RTX 5060 version much slower.

We compared independent expert reviews with the manufacturer's specifications, then checked it's sold at a major retailer where you live. We don't test products ourselves.
