Is the ASUS TUF Gaming A16 (2025) worth it?

Yes — if you want a gaming laptop that also lasts a day.

Its full-power graphics hold up well for the price, and its 90 Wh battery gave 12–13 hours of light use in tests, which few gaming laptops manage. It's very loud in its fastest mode, heavy at 2.2 kg, and the standard 1920×1200 screen is only adequate.

Good to know

  • Very loud in Turbo mode; headphones help.
  • The 1920×1200 screen is a bit washed out and reflective.
  • Cheaper versions ending in "I" (FA608UHI, FA608UMI) have a 144 Hz screen and a smaller 70 Wh battery.
  • The number pad makes the keyboard a little cramped.

    AMD Ryzen 7 260 · 16" 1920×1200 165 Hz · 90 Wh battery

A little faster, but it runs at the same power as the RTX 5060 here and costs about £300 more.

How we reached this verdict

Notebookcheck (84%) measured almost 13 hours of browsing on battery and low surface temperatures, but 57 dB in Turbo. TechRadar (4/5) got over 12 hours of video and called the fans distractingly loud. PC Gamer (70) found the full-power RTX 5050 close to some RTX 5060 laptops but thought it should cost less.

We compared independent expert reviews with the manufacturer's specifications, then checked it's sold at a major retailer where you live. We don't test products ourselves.
