Is the Breville Smart Oven Pizzaiolo worth it?

Yes — if you've no garden or want pizza all year.

It reaches 400°C (750°F) on the worktop and turns out leopard-spotted 12-inch pizzas without you turning them. It's the easiest pizza oven to get right and works in any weather. It's expensive and takes up a lot of counter. In the UK it's sold as the Sage Smart Oven Pizzaiolo.

Things to know before you buy

  1. 01

No light inside to watch the pizza.

  2. 02

Big and heavy at about 15 kg.

T3 names it the best indoor pizza oven: its tester has used one for three years without a single failed pizza. You pay a lot for that, and you give up the flavour of a real fire.
