Is the CASO Clear Ice Advanced Ice Cube Maker worth it?

Yes — the best for clear ice and cocktails.

It makes clear or frosted cubes, starts dropping ice within minutes and is very quiet, at a claimed 48 dB. It cleans itself and its matt black body looks smart on a counter. It makes less ice a day than the Cooks Professional, the tinted window makes the MAX water line hard to see, and the cubes come out clearest with soft water.

Good to know

  • The cubes are small, so you need a lot of them to chill a drink.
  • The tinted window makes the MAX water line hard to see.

How we reached this verdict

The Evening Standard tested it and picked it as the best ice maker for cocktails, at 4 out of 5: ice in about six minutes, a full basket in about 90 minutes and very quiet, but a hard-to-read water line and lower daily output.

We compared independent expert reviews with the manufacturer's specifications, then checked it's sold at a major retailer where you live. We don't test products ourselves.
