Is the ghd Duet Blowdry 2-in-1 Hair Dryer Brush worth it?

Yes — if you'll pay for the easiest blow-dry.

It dries and styles straight from damp hair in one pass, with heated bristles that don't snag, real root volume and a shiny finish that lasts to the next wash, even on curly hair. It costs about as much as an Airwrap, has just one heat and speed setting with no cool shot, is fairly heavy, and the bristles are hard to clean.

Good to know

  • One heat and one speed setting, and no cool shot.
  • Fairly heavy at about 540g.
  • The bristles and air vents are hard to keep clean, and the filter isn't removable.
  • Thick hair takes much longer, and it can't do sleek-straight.

How we reached this verdict

Good Housekeeping found it very easy, with very impressive root volume and rained-on hair styled in under 10 minutes, but calls the price the main drawback. Marie Claire got a frizz-free style in about 15 minutes that lasted to the next wash, but found it heavy and hard to clean. Who What Wear dried and smoothed 3C/4A curls in under 12 minutes but found it noisy. It isn't sold at Currys or Best Buy, so it's on Amazon only here.

We compared independent expert reviews with the manufacturer's specifications, then checked it's sold at a major retailer where you live. We don't test products ourselves.
