Is the LG G6 OLED 55-inch worth it?

Yes — if you want the best LG OLED.

It keeps everything that makes the C6 the default pick (inky blacks, a wide viewing angle, four HDMI 2.1 ports up to 165Hz) and adds more brightness and better reflection handling, so HDR highlights pop and daytime viewing is easier. This version is made to hang flat on the wall and comes with a flush bracket rather than feet.

Good to know

  • No HDR10+ support (Expert Reviews).
  • The built-in sound is only okay, so a soundbar helps (Expert Reviews).
  • Colours take on a slight green tint from far off to the side (Expert Reviews).
  • You need an LG account for most apps (LG).

How we reached this verdict

Expert Reviews calls it a close second to the best OLED it has tested, with spectacular contrast and brightness, excellent gaming support (9.1 ms input lag) and a premium design. What Hi-Fi finds it brighter than last year's G5 and blacker in a lit room. Its weak spots are average built-in sound and no HDR10+.

We compared independent expert reviews with the manufacturer's specifications, then checked it's sold at a major retailer where you live. We don't test products ourselves.
