Is the Shark FlexStyle 5-in-1 Air Styler & Hair Dryer worth it?
Yes — the best value multi-styler.
It's a genuinely quick hair dryer first, and twists into a wand for auto-wrap curling barrels and smoothing brushes. The paddle brush gives a smooth, low-frizz finish and the oval brush a proper blow-dry. Curls drop faster than with the Dyson, especially on long, thick hair, you swap barrels to change curl direction, and it's loud.

What owners say
Owners love how easy it is to use, its range of attachments and how fast it dries hair. The main complaint is that curls don't last.
Good to know
- Curls drop fairly quickly, especially on long, thick hair, so hairspray helps.
- You swap between left and right barrels to change curl direction, and there's one barrel size.
- It's loud and high-pitched, and the flat buttons are hard to find by feel.
- The cord has a bulky power pack partway along.

Get it if…
- You want one tool to dry and style without paying Dyson prices.
- Blow-dries and smoothing matter more than long-lasting curls.
- You have long or thick hair: the big brushes suit it.
Skip it if…
- Curls that last all day are the main thing: the Dyson or T3 hold better.
- Noise bothers you: it's louder than most dryers.
How we reached this verdict
Expert Reviews calls it the first real Dyson Airwrap rival, and T3 and Tom's Guide give it four stars: thick hair was 80% dry in under three minutes, and the brushes gave smooth, low-frizz blow-dries. TechRadar gives it 3.5 out of 5, praising the drying speed but finding curls dropped faster than with tongs. Everyone notes the noise and the barrel swap to change direction. Shark's newer FlexStyle IonCurl adds stronger curling but has few hands-on reviews yet.
We compared independent expert reviews with the manufacturer's specifications, then checked it's sold at a major retailer where you live. We don't test products ourselves.
