Is the SteelSeries Arctis Nova 7 Wireless Gen 2 worth it?

Yes โ€” the best gaming headset for most people.

It's light at 325g and comfortable for long sessions, and its bright, detailed sound suits competitive games. The battery now lasts up to 54 hours, a 15-minute charge gives about six, and it can play your PC or PlayStation over its USB-C dongle while taking calls or music from your phone over Bluetooth at the same time. The mic is fine for chat but sounds thin, the dials feel a little cheap, and the dongle is wide enough to block the port next to it. Its dongle works with PC, PlayStation, Switch and phones; for wireless play on Xbox you need the 7X Gen 2.

How we reached this verdict

Tom's Guide praises its sound for competitive games, its software and its comfort, and the 40% longer battery and simultaneous wireless and Bluetooth over the first Nova 7; it finds the mic tinny, the dials cheap and the price $25โ€“50 too high. PCWorld gives it an Editors' Choice for its comfort, precise sound, long battery and quick charging, with the same mic complaint and a wide dongle that blocks the next port.

We compared independent expert reviews with the manufacturer's specifications, then checked it's sold at a major retailer where you live. We don't test products ourselves.
