Is the Microsoft Xbox Series X 1TB worth it?
Only if you're set on Game Pass or your friends are on Xbox.
It plays games in 4K with fast loading, has a 1TB SSD and a disc drive, and Quick Resume keeps several games paused where you left them. It's a big, heavy tower, and the official storage expansion cards are expensive. Microsoft has raised the price several times, most recently in August 2026, so it now costs more than a PS5 with a disc drive, and the next Xbox is still years away.

Expert Reviews praised its 4K performance, fast loading and Quick Resume, but found it a big box and the official storage card expensive. Since then Microsoft has raised the price twice in 2025 and again in August 2026, to £669.99 and $799.99 (Pure Xbox), and BGR reports the next Xbox only reaches developers in 2027. At today's price the PS5 is the better value.
