Is the XGIMI MoGo 4 Laser worth it?
Yes — as a portable, if you watch in the dark.
It's compact, runs on its own battery and has Google TV, Harman Kardon speakers, a tilting stand and auto focus, so you can point it at a wall or ceiling anywhere. Colours are rich. It's dim, so it needs a fully dark room and a small picture, it's 1080p, the battery lasts about two hours, and input lag is far too high for gaming.
Good to know

- Colours are too warm out of the box.
- Can't remove judder, so pans look choppy.

- Small, with a lens cover and tilting stand
- Quiet enough for a bedroom

How we reached this verdict
Expert Reviews calls it arguably the best portable projector, brighter than the LED MoGo 4, with battery life its only downside. RTINGS is harsher: rich colours and a convenient design, but very dim, raised blacks in dark scenes and awful input lag.
We compared independent expert reviews with the manufacturer's specifications, then checked it's sold at a major retailer where you live. We don't test products ourselves.
