How do the built-in scales work?
Kenwood's EasyWeigh scale sits in the base: put the bowl on, zero it, and weigh each ingredient straight into the bowl as you go — no separate kitchen scales.
What comes in the box?
A 7 L and a 5 L stainless steel bowl, a K-beater, a dough tool, a whisk, a creaming beater and a splashguard.
Is it good for bread dough?
Yes — that's what it's built for. The 1,200 W motor adjusts its power to the mix, so heavy dough and fruit cake mixes don't strain it.
Are the tools dishwasher safe?
Yes. Kenwood says the K-beater, dough tool, whisk and creaming beater are all dishwasher safe.
What's the warranty?
Kenwood gives a 10-year guarantee on the motor.
What is the fold function for?
A gentle setting for folding in ingredients for meringues, mousses and light sponges without knocking the air out.
Is it hard to add ingredients?
No. The LightLift head lifts with a button, so you can add ingredients without lifting the whole top by hand.
What's the difference between KVL85 and KVC85?
The KVL85 (Baker XL) comes with a 7 L bowl as well as a 5 L one. The KVC85 (Baker) has smaller bowls. Check the model code when you buy.
Is it big?
Yes. With a 7 L bowl it's a large machine that needs a permanent spot on the counter — measure under your wall cupboards first.
Should I get this or the KitchenAid Artisan?
The Kenwood if you bake bread or big batches every week and want scales built in. The KitchenAid if you mostly bake cakes and cookies, want a classic look, and want to spend less.
