How many people does it cook for?
One or two. The 4.7 L drawer takes about 500 g of fresh chips, 700 g of frozen chips, four burgers or eight sausages. For a family, get a bigger or two-drawer air fryer.
Will a whole chicken fit?
A small one. Ninja says up to 1 kg. Expert Reviews got a 1.3 kg chicken in only by flattening it slightly, and small birds can be hard to find.
Is the basket dishwasher safe?
Yes. The drawer and the crisper plate both go in the dishwasher, and their non-stick coating also wipes clean by hand.
How hot does it get?
Up to 210°C. That's plenty for most food, but frozen food can take a little longer to crisp than in Ninja's bigger AF180UK, which reaches 240°C.
What can it cook besides air frying?
It has four settings: Air Fry, Roast, Reheat and Dehydrate. There's no Bake or Max Crisp button and no manual mode — you pick a setting, then change the time and temperature.
Will it fit under my kitchen cupboards?
Almost certainly. It's 26.5 cm tall, 28.5 cm wide and 36 cm deep, and weighs 4.8 kg — about 4 cm shorter than Ninja's 6.2 L model.
How much electricity does it use?
It's rated at 1,750 W. In Expert Reviews' test it used 0.617 kWh in an hour at 200°C — about 15p at 25p per kWh, so a typical 20-minute cook costs around 5p.
Does it remind you to shake the food?
No. It beeps when the time is up, but there's no shake reminder, so set a separate timer if you want to shake halfway.
What's the difference between the UK and US versions?
The UK model is the AF140UK: 4.7 L, up to 210°C, 240 V and a 2-year guarantee. The US model is the AF141: 5 qt, up to 400°F, 120 V and a 1-year warranty. Buy the one made for your country — they run on different mains voltages.
Should I get this or the Ninja DualZone?
Get the Air Fryer Pro if you cook for one or two and want something small and cheap. Get the DualZone if you cook for three or more or want a main and a side ready at the same time.
