Is the HyperX Cloud III S Wireless worth it?

Yes โ€” the best value wireless gaming headset.

It's very comfortable and its 53mm drivers make games sound big and detailed. The battery is rated for 120 hours over the wireless dongle and up to 200 over Bluetooth, and you get a detachable boom mic plus a built-in backup mic. You switch between the dongle and Bluetooth rather than using both at once, there's no wired option, the ear cups get warm, and the app does little. There's no Xbox version: it works with PC, PlayStation, Switch and phones.

How we reached this verdict

Tom's Hardware gives it an Editor's Choice and calls it everything the Cloud III Wireless should have been: very comfortable, with Bluetooth and both a boom and a built-in mic, but no wired connection and it doesn't fold flat. Tom's Guide praises the fantastic, immersive sound from its 53mm drivers and some of the best battery life it has seen, but notes warm ear cups, little customisation and no Xbox version.

We compared independent expert reviews with the manufacturer's specifications, then checked it's sold at a major retailer where you live. We don't test products ourselves.
