Is the TCL NXTPAPER 14 worth it?
Only on a good discount.
The 14.3-inch 2.4K screen has a matte finish that cuts reflections and feels like paper, and a button switches it to a muted colour-paper or black-and-white ink-paper mode for reading and comics. It has 256GB of storage, four decent speakers, IP54 splash resistance and a 33W charger in the box, and lasted 7 hours 44 minutes in Tech Advisor's battery test. The screen is dim at about 400 nits and only 60Hz, it's too big to hold for long, the cameras are poor, and it gets one Android update.

How we reached this verdict
Tech Advisor scores it 3.5/5: a decent Android tablet with unique display modes, generous storage and a charger included, but a dim display, average battery life and poor cameras, at a price too close to better tablets. It's worth it on a good discount.
We compared independent expert reviews with the manufacturer's specifications, then checked it's sold at a major retailer where you live. We don't test products ourselves.
