Is the TCL P7K worth it?

Yes โ€” one of the best cheap TVs.

For the price its picture is sharp and well balanced, with subtle colour, decent blacks for a budget set and enough brightness for a lit room. It plays Dolby Vision, HDR10+ and HLG, and gaming feels quick at 10.8ms with VRR and ALLM. It's a 60Hz panel without local dimming, so dark scenes look a little grey and the backlight isn't perfectly even, upscaling is so-so and the speakers sound thin in action films. It comes in 43 to 85 inches.

How we reached this verdict

Expert Reviews recommends it: sharp 4K pictures, balanced and subtle colours, comprehensive HDR support and fast 10.8ms gaming, with performance above most budget TVs. It notes some backlight inconsistency, slight greyness in dark scenes, so-so upscaling and thin sound, and says some sizes cost almost as much as the P8K.
