Dreame D30 Ultra: questions before you buy

Yes — for most homes.
Near-flagship cleaning and a dock that does the chores, for a mid-range price.

What does the dock do?
It empties the robot's bin into a 3.2 L dust bag — Dreame says up to 100 days between bag changes — and washes and dries the mop pads.
Does it lift its mops on carpet?
Yes, by about 10.5 mm, and Carpet Boost turns the suction up on rugs. Very deep-pile rugs are best set as no-mop zones in the app.
Can it climb door thresholds?
Up to 20 mm, per Dreame. For higher steps you'd need a small ramp.
Will it fit under my sofa?
Dreame lists the robot at 9.7 cm tall, so it needs a gap of at least about 10 cm. Our robot vacuum height checker tells you which robots fit your furniture.
How big is the dock?
About 46 cm wide, 34 cm deep and 59 cm tall, so it needs a spot by a socket with some clearance.
Does it avoid cables and socks?
It uses laser navigation with 3D obstacle avoidance to steer round furniture and objects on the floor. As with any robot vacuum, picking up loose cables and socks first gives the best results.
Does it clean into corners?
Better than most: Dreame says the mops extend up to 4 cm to reach edges and corners.
How long does the battery last?
Dreame quotes up to 230 minutes on vacuum-only quiet mode. Real runs with higher suction and mopping are shorter, and it returns to the dock to recharge if needed.
Does long hair wrap round the brush?
It can. In some regions Dreame sells the TriCut anti-tangle brush separately; check what's in the box if you have long hair or pets.
Should I get this or the Eufy Omni C28?
The D30 Ultra for a mix of carpet and hard floors — it's stronger on carpet. The Eufy if most of your floors are hard and mopping matters more.
